Subject: Preventing fire sales, further depreciation

Mississippi

One objective, if Deere does this, is to keep large numbers of used tractors and other equipment from being dumped on the used market and (further) depressing prices. This also affords some protection to its dealer network, which would have to compete against some fairly low-houred machines that the market would have to absorb. Protecting the dealer network has got to be a key to long-term growth, if not outright survival.
