Take a look at Stevens in .223 or .243, they are made by Savage and very accurate and economical.
I think for a truck gun it's one of the best choices you could make.
I have a NEF handi rifle in .223 in my truck, great little gun and pretty accurate, just alot of times I wish I had another quick shot.
