Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Burying any kind of data wire next to (in parallel with) a power line is a bad idea. The power conductors will create a magnetic field that will induce a voltage on the data wires. That can cause errors on the data line. Network cable is twisted pair, which helps a ton to reduce this issue, but it's not totally immune from it.
If it was my system, I'd either use a pair of Ubiquiti wireless bridges, or run a conduit and pull in pre-terminated fiber. The Ubiquiti wireless solution should be less than $150 total. | |
