Central Missouri
Give me your thoughts on why. My reasoning is that since organic matter is lower and drainage is poor less nitrogen is released naturally by the soil. I base this on observations over the years that when an even spread is broadcast across the field the well drained areas and terraces lodge (where the water gets away) and the clay areas lack for enough of something. That something may be oxygen, other nutrients or N. Of course I may be all wrong in my thinking.
