Thanks for great comments. I will focus on PH first. Variable rate planting has me quite entrigued as we have areas that in dry years will make 0 and other areas of same field will go 150. I'm more interested in vr N on wheat as I believe that the clay eroded areas need 30-50 more # of N than the terraces and well drained dirt. I have no way to quantify that it is just my opinion from Watching closely my wheat and yield in different areas of the field. I'm in central MO with claypan ozark eroded soils.
