Chebanse, IL.....

re. truck speed limit of 55 mph, let me ask this....IF the limit were raised to 65 mph, would you consider it encouraging road-rage, or reckless, if a truck (or any vehicle) felt that it was best to maintain the 55 mph?

Also-if the trucks get raised to 65 mph, are we saying that cars should then be 75 mph? How's a car going to get around a truck that's going 65 while that truck is trying to pass one only going 64.5 mph? Also-I personally see almost NO cars adhering to the 65 mph posted limit. And I watch them fly right by cops in the median.

I believe some neighboring states have 70 mph interstate limits. What is their max truck speed? Is it the same, or is there any disparity between the car/truck speeds?

Finally, I'm betting that if trucks were raised to 70 mph, they'd then pass me at 80 mph. Does anyone really think the speed limit applies to their driving abilities? I doubt it.
