Subject: fan and dryer advice

Central Illinois - west of Peoria

is there any problems with installing TOO big of a fan for drying corn ? We have a Behlen 750 bushel batch dryer that we are converting from PTO to a electric vane axial fan for batch drying corn and would like to install a 28 - 30" 15 hp fan (single phase ) . the column of grain to push through would be no more than 36" . any advise on why this wont work ? it may not be as efficient but price is almost free and if you can dry 8-10 pts in 2 hrs it would be just as good as a continuous flow doing 300 / hr ?  I know it it will have to be manually ran and loaded / offloaded but fans and gas would be controlled by timers. would like to set this up next to bin with stirrator and dry with both and then transfer to 25k holding bin . thanks for the help.
