"I was talking to another farmer recently and he told me that you don't want to spray your broadleaf and grass/corn killer herbicide together when you spray soybeans. According to him, when you add the grass killer, it makes the broadleaf herbicides one fourth as effective. Can anyone shed any insight on this?" Yes, you can get antagonism when tank-mixing a broadleaf herbicide with a grass herbicide, such as Select. I was thinking the effect was on reduced grass control. I pulled up the Select label, and it confirms that. It says right on the label that you can get reduced grass control when tank-mixing Select with broadleaf herbicides. Now.... 1/4 as effective? I think that is a stretch. I don't think it is that much. But there is some reduction in effectiveness. |
