Subject: RE: E15 & E85

The consumption of gasoline is highest in the summer months .......when motorists drive the most miles.

The oil industry manufactured an excuse to prevent the sale of ethanol during the months of highest gasoline sales...... protecting their profit margins during the summer months.

Only now has this rule been allowed to change or expire because refiners have been allowed to petition the EPA and claim that the requiring them to add ethanol to gasoline is causing them economic hardship. This began in late 2016 or early 2017. This whole process is done without requiring the refiners to make public the cause or nature of the economic hardship. It's conducted in secret. Currently their is a waiting list of roughly 54 refineries seeking the same exemption from the EPA . Please google RIN Waivers for more details.

Long story short..... starting 2 years ago more and more refineries are no longer required to manufacture or produce E 15. Therefore the oil industry and lobbies who successfully blocked the sale of E 15 during the summer driving season 2 years ago no longer oppose this rule change. THE CONSUMER CANNOT PURCHASE WHAT SOME REFINERS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO PRODUCE!

******Perhaps the most important fact of ethanol benefits is overlooked. It was the goal of the ethanol industry to reduce the CO2 emissions of cars and trucks by 21% when the industry was born. Research released by the USDA in the last 4 months proves that the efficiencies of the ethanol industry have improved. Today CO2 emissions of vehicles that burn Oxygenated Fuel (Ethanol) Is more than 40% less than the level of CO2 released by vehicles fueled by non Oxygenated gasoline.. THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON THE USDA WEBSITE!

Thank you for reading this.
