West Central Illinois | I have a JD 568, I have grass and alfalfa hay. I usually bale at 1800 rpm, just the way I learned I guess. A neighbor said he runs lower rpm and goes up a gear in alfalfa, makes sense as on dry hay he’s trying to not knock so many leaves off. I didn’t get a baler until about 5 years ago, used to have it custom baled. Question is what rpm are you guys running on Alfalfa? We mowed alfalfa today so I’m thinking about trying lower rpm. | |
