The last 3 years “here” it’s been almost impossible to make dry alfalfa hay without getting 1-2 rains on it, even with a crimper. Bought a wrapper, now I cut one day bale the next, doesn’t matter what I cut it with.
Grass hay can get put up dry because it usually only needs 2 days of drying.
