NW Central Ohio | ...I've never quite understood the "re-invent" the wheel theory of the rifle manufacturers...but if you want to shoot cheap...get a .223. If you want accurate in the .22...get a .222. If you want to shoot it 500 yards...get a .22/250 or .220 Swift. You can probably come up with quite a few cheap rifles in these calibers. An old 788 Remington .222 was my introduction to center fire rifles....and I could shoot the crap out of woodchucks with the darn thing. Don't have a clue why I didn't buy it from my buddy.
