Forty-six percent of the Nation's corn acreage had emerged by June 2,
thirty-eight percentage points behind both the previous year and the 5-year
average. Producers had planted 92 percent of the Nation's corn acreage by
June 16, eight percentage points behind both the previous year and the 5-year
average. Seventy-nine percent of the Nation's corn acreage had emerged by
June 16, eighteen percentage points behind both the previous year and the
5-year average. By June 30, ninety-four percent of the Nation's corn acreage
had emerged, 6 percentage points behind both the previous year and the 5-year
average. On June 30, fifty-six percent of the Nation's corn acreage was rated
in good to excellent condition, 20 percentage points below the same time last
