NE Ohio | Way back, ran dry - typically 6-24-24, then converted to run ~5 gal of liquid starter dribbled into the seed row. Got a new planter and last couple years have been running 20 Gal of 28% 2x2.
I like the 28% better. Seems like it gets the corn up and going faster. Too small to have real yield data, but the yield have not gone down.
Running the liquid fertilizer openers can be a maintenance pain. I wouldn't ever run dry again, but I'm also not going away from the 28% on the planter. Put the P and K down broadcast dry before planting. | |
