Somebody above mentioned using pvc pipe instead of black poly pipe. Unless your pvc pipe is a lot more flexible than what I'm familiar with, don't use it. If you tried to bend pvc into a 6 foot radius(necessary for pulling a pump), I'm pretty sure it would shatter.


I've used sch 80 pvc in the last couple of wells. Pulled one in the middle of winter on the coldest day and it didn't snap when it bent over.

I've had the black poly pipe kink just above the pump. The torque from the pump starting can put some strain on black poly. Probably not an issue for a 1/2 hp pump, but 3/4 and up it can be an issue.
