Subject: RE: IL yields

Southeast Colorado
I haven't been too far from home this summer because of work load. However...........I did make a parts run that took me on a 200 mile loop through extreme Southwest Kansas. Dryland corn looks unreal. I'm sure thinner populations will limit yield potential, but I also know folks are upping populations from recent history. Looks to me as though there is 200 bushel potential in some of those tasseled fields that just had 2 to 4 inches of rain dumped on them the night before last. There problem now is getting there wheat out. It's getting weedy and water soaked as well.

Just thought I'd throw this story out there for balance.
