No, we are definitely not in the restaurant business! We provide beef and pork to some restaurants within a 2 HR drive of us. The photos are from a relatively new restaurant. The chef that is opening it was hired from by the owners from a restaurant we already worked with. He really liked our products and built the new menu around us, so we are featured on the menu and promotional materials.

Restaurants make up 40% or so of our business. The rest is retail to customers. We feed all nonGMO feed l, no antibiotics etc. The feed is primarily conventional corn mixed with a DDG from a distillery that also uses conventional corn along with some minerals and crushed limestone. We feed them to 1200-1500lb to meet the needs of the restaurants concerning fat content etc. They are all graded by a state meat grader and we use that data to make herd decisions.

The pork eats a similar diet with different ratios and supplements and some bean meal added in.

The nonGMO thing is working out well. I don't make any claims about it being better or disparage GMO crops, but a lot of customers turn off unless the hear nonGMO or organic or grass fed or some other phrase they don't really understand. NonGMO removes a barrier for purchase we've found. The people that care REALLY care, and the people that don't still don't.
