...There are a lot of diseases of Apple Trees...and they also affect Crabapples in your yards too. Apple Scab and Frogeye Leaf spot are two I'm familiar with....and they need fungicide applied to the leaves just about the time the Apple tree breaks out in flower. There was a short session on controlling it at one of my pesticide meetings a few years ago..and they were recommending at 1/10th bloom drop....but I think the sooner the better. Depending on rainfall and conditions...I'd be ready to spray again in 7-10 days with another dose...and continue until I'm 7-10 days after the last bloom falls. The spores are in the soil around the plant...so good husbandry by raking all the leaves up and disposing of them helps too.
