Yeah. One thing I'll add is that the longer season hybrids are bred with more heat tolerance. I was talking about changing to shorter season corn with the agronomist from my organic seed supplier. She noted that I had plenty of GDU to get an 82 day hybrid to maturity and that it yields at the lower end of my "acceptable" yield range when planted in its adapted area. She said it'd likely do great if we have a cool summer, but it'd be a disaster if we had a normal one.


I can see what she’s saying but I don’t agree with it being a disaster.

If you watch high temps this summer, ND will have plenty of hot days during pollination. Maybe hotter than yours.

We don’t get the high humidity that you guys do but corn handles that, unless your disease pressure is that much worse.?
