Subject: bedding for barns

Just outside downtown Prairie Hill
We prefer to use wheat straw in our bedded barns. Not much wheat was planted last fall due to the wet weather. Looks like getting any baled could be an issue for the same reason. Anyone have experience with using sawdust or wood chips to bed cattle barns? I know a lot of folks use corn stalks, but we don't like adding to the fall work load. Nutrient content of either wheat straw or corn stalks is available. Does the wood products have much nutrient content for the next crop year? You guys have any thoughts?
