Subject: RE: Fence line bunks by front yard

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

Dad has cattle bunks (fenceline) right along front lane to house(around 250 feet away), and you get flies in the house, with animals that close. Feed bunks and lot are to the South and prevailing winds are normally from the NorthWest, so the smell wasn't typically too bad. Level area, that started with 20 foot of concrete, on the "cattle side" and gravel in the front driveway (front lane area) for tractor and feedwagon path.

Later more concrete was added, on cattle side, and really helped on manure handling.

Note: Dad's fenceline feed bunks were set North/South, thus the Winter sunlight can get to BOTH sides of bunks(to help with ice and thawing)

Dad has some other fenceline bunks and slight sidehill (heading downhill with feed wagon), but it only had roughly 10-12 feet of concrete on "cattle side" and that was just barely enough for a little JD3010 and loader to clean manure (too narrow) Plan for more width for concrete for "cattle side".

Think about Snow drifts and where to "move snow" and "pile snow", too.

Not having the "wife on board" , is a bad start to any project.
