Subject: No till beans and slugs

south central ill effingham county
How do you no tillers manage slugs when your planting beans into standing stalks. We ran our excellerator across our cornstalks last fall and planted into the worked stalks this spring. We are having trouble with slugs eating our beans, some places look good but there is spots in field where there is not much, gonna have to replant a few hundred acres. Another neighbor no tilled into standing stalks and he is having the same trouble. What I don't get is a couple of our neighbors no tilled in to standing stalks and some weeds and there stand don't look to bad. Not saying they don't have to spot in some but overall pretty good. All these fields are within 3 miles of each other, is this just bad luck? I understand the cool wet weather isn't helping much.
