northeastern Ohio | Good concept in theory, but I've heard that the cows lay sideways and backwards in reality. Last I heard, the cost was around $200 per stall.
I would not use the floating neckrail on a steel stall. The neckrail gives strength to keep the cows from breaking them off at the attachment point.
I will admit that I am cheap. My 30 year old freestalls rusted out at the attachement brackets. Had a local shop make new brackets and I shortened the loops 6" to get to good steel. I now have more backward laying cows because the cows have 6" at the end of the loop to turn and back in. Lesson learned. | |
