I have resisted posting on that post since its creation. It seems really simple to me, probably going to be an unpopular opinion on stock talk but- Last I checked, rules were rules. To try to give everybody a even playing field. Yes there are ways around everything, and I do feel bad for those livestock guys. But, why can't we just change the rules to be able to plant a row crop and harvest it normally? Why does hay need a different rule change? Why not just NOT take PP and be able to do whatever you wanted with it whenever you wanted it? We have never been in a PP situation and probably never will be "here" but have read on here it is a bandage to a bad situation which I am all for. Why does a producer get to double dip, collect PP and also harvest whatever they will get from the hay? Why not just plant the hay and not get PP also?
