NC Indiana | $0.70-90/# ARG, +/-$3/# tillage radish and purple top turnip, and +/- $1/# rapeseed (last years price, waiting on quote for interseeding price this week). Might have went 10# of ARG, and then 1/4-1/2 pound each turnip and rapeseed as there are 3-8 times as many seeds per pound in those vs tillage radish. There could be 30-60k seeds per pound in tillage radish. 180-240k seeds/pound for the other 2. Could have gone 1/2# if you have 60K seed count on tillage radish. At 3# of brassicas, you might not see much ARG.
Reminder to anyone reading this and considering cover crops - make sure you're buying seed for the purpose you intend - ie - tillage radish vs grazing radish, cover crop species vs grazing species. Some dealers will just sell you seed and you will not be happy with the results and the cost. | |
