| Ok gentlemen and ladies! I am very new to earlage and feeding cattle for that matter. I am a glutton for punishment. Question I have relate to an earlage ration for beef and beef/dairy crosses.
Thinking about taking some late planted corn and chopping for silage and earlage. Looking for a ration to take calves from 350 to finish on these two ingredients plus I'm sure ill need some additional protein (can I use whole soybeans?). What's your opinion (other than I'm an idiot) and Do you think Dairy cross cattle will finish (without weighing 1600lbs) on a ration like this? Or should I continue on our whole corn/pellet ration we are already on for the next group and keep the leafy stuff for the blacks? | |
