North of London
Good for him.
I guess we have not crossed paths recently but glad to see he is still farming.

Was talking to the grain guy on line 8 the other day and he started telling me what a neighbour had told him about another spring similar to this.
I was able to fill in parts of his story as my father told me the same.
Not sure when but before your father's memory I guess.
The story was the same ........they were making maple syrup, the sap quit running as it warmed up and they pulled the spiles and went to the field and planted what was small grains in that time. I would guess 1920ies or maybe early 30ies.
So some farmers including my fathers family planted in what was probably March and others said it was too early.
After they planted they had a good covering of snow and those who did not plant were sure they had made the correct decision.
The land never dried up enough to do anything after that until late June and July.
Early planted was an excellent crop and there was virtually nothing form the late planted.

Tweek your dad's memory and see if he remembers anything about that as my fathers story has been confirmed and all in this area.
Would be interesting to find out the exact year.

Conditions look good in your pictures.
Hope you get everything finished.
