I have a Frigidaire Electric Range. Bought it in July 2000. So it is coming up on 19 years old. To the best of my knowledge I've had it repaired twice - first time it was under warranty. That time they repaired the circuit board. It was also repaired Dec 2002, and I believe that was the second time. Recently, the oven is shutting off prematurely. Last weekend, I made a meatloaf and put it in the oven. The oven shut off before it was done baking. I restarted it. Shut off again. Restarted it a third time. My question is..... 19 year old range.... would you call a repair person? or just buy a new range? How long can a person expect a range to last these days? If I call a repair person, am I going to end up buying a new one anyway because parts are no longer available? What would you do? Call a repair person, or just plan to replace it? |
