I've had some live traps and raccoons opened them because they were made too light. I found a place in Iowa that makes heavier gauge wire traps and you can talk to the owner/manufacture.
I got one from him and it's a solid trap, nothing has gotten out of it or damaged it.
He did suggest a different trap than the one I bought if you had skunks, but my problem is always raccoons.
