There's a hog barn near here that the owner wants $4/pig over the going rate for rent. Now he has to decide if he wants to lower the rent or collect no rent because it has been empty for a year. Maybe I should give him the extra $4 just to make sure my neighbor doesn't and then complain about it being too high. Rent isn't what the landowner says it is, it is what the farmers are willing to pay. Rent won't come down until the farmers quit paying so much.
