Mid Michigan
We have a few of the old MCcullochs saws from the late 50's. Was a very big expense for a farmer back then. About $275 dollars. We have a couple 3-25's that were supposed to be 3 horsepower and a "lightweight" 25 lbs. Then I have a couple of the 4-30's that were 4 horsepower and a svelt 30 lbs. I can remember running them up north deer hunting cutting up campfire wood. They're pretty loud and being gear reduction the chain turns pretty slow and also have a manual chain lube and a sediment bulb like a tractor has. You have to be a man to run one all day that's for sure. They do cut pretty well though. I laugh at the ads for the 3-25. "light enough to pick up with a pinky finger"!!!
