Appears, if that’s the case, he had the right equipment to ‘pull it home himself’. I’ve seen ‘professional’ truckers do the exact same thing. It can happen to anyone. Like someone else said, the recent road work may have changed the height and it wasn’t posted yet. Doesn’t look like he hit it excessively hard so he was probably skeptical. If I had a truck sitting and someone to drive it, not sure why I’d pay the $4/mi when the same thing could happen.

I think CJ’s comment about the chip seal was “tongue in cheek” How much height does a splash of tar with some gravel dust spread over it add? Glad the repairs aren’t coming out of my billfold.
