I have run a Gladiator 12-30 for the past 6 years. It has a 6 ton Montag mounted on it. Usually run 2500-3300 acres per year on it. Overall been happy with it. Very nice to be able to work on it while its up in the air. For the life of the bar , it has averaged about $.60 acre for wear items and upkeep. Strip quality is as good as any; and handles residue pretty well providing your guidance is good. I prefer the deep placement of nutrients over the "coulter " style bars. I do feel a coulter style bar is better for spring stripping though.........less chance of knife void. My only complaint is the horsepower load. Figure 35hp per row with the Montag mounted on top. I have a mt740 challenger pulling it now; and at 405 hp, it makes it talk at 7.5mph. The bar really needs to be pulled at a minimum of 5.5mph to build the proper berm to reduce strip blowout on hills.
