We had the 25 foot version of that drill for 16 years. Pretty much the same results you say. They always said to run the coulters shallow, but like you said, we never had any luck running it that way. We always ran the coulters fairly deep so there was dirt for the openers to run in in the bottom of the corn rows, tracks and such. It pulled hard the way we ran it. We traded it for a 1990 jd ccs and while not perfect, it is considerably better than the GP. The jd is a 36foot, and while not pulling it with the same tractor, but it seems like it pulls easier than the GP did.
