The average sow has 25 pigs a year. We could extend the useful life of a sow a few litters if the market demanded it. You could build the hog herd quicker than you could supply them with soybeans.

The barn issue may or may not be a problem. I’ve tried to ascertain if it is and have not gotten clear information. Supposedly they are converting barns to poultry and building new hog barns. That’s just hearsay.
