Might try Teff if you're on sand. Oats, millet and sorghum sudan have worked well too, but not sure about seed supply. We've used forage sorghum for silage after wheat in place of silage corn if that's a need. Multi species cover crop/forage mixes have given a lot of tonnage for grazing in the past, but not sure how marketable those would be though we have baled them for beef cow feed before. We're 40 miles south of South Bend.
