In 2010 we planted 900 acres of beans on July 1-3, ran a 24-30 planter, an old worn out Tye drill and hired a neighbor with a nice 1590 drill with belt meters. At times we had all 3 machines on the same farm and at harvest the yield monitor couldn't find a difference between planters.

It's June, use whatever you have that will plant beans the fastest.

Agree with cliff. Personally I still would like a planter style row unit for depth control over the old school type drills. Bumping up your population will help also

I would struggle to give up a planter unit.
