My opinion is if we privatized the post office there are many rural places that would not have mail service as there is no money to be made and private companies are not going to lose money. That is why UPS and others use the post office to finalize their delivery as they are not going to drive way out of their way as there is no profit.Be careful what you wish for.


Some rural areas may no longer see delivery, but I would think most would. Private companies deliver packages now, I don’t see why privatized mail would be that different. They could go to three days per week for rural deliveries. That would still be plenty timely for snail mail and immediately cut delivery costs nearly in half.
