I have a (mostly) rusted out old metal Ritchie livestock fountain in a rather remote location. It was heated by a natural gas pilot and burner. Fountain needs replaced, but I'm not finding any modern fountains which can be heated by a gas burner. Everything seems to utilize electric heaters now, but unfortunately, I have no electric line running to this location......but I DO have a gas line.
Does any manufacturer still make a metal clad livestock automatic waterer which can use a gas burner for heat? Thanks. showboat
You may need to install a 'contemporary fountain removing the electric guts and replacing them with the necessary heating parts from your older model.
There still are some metal fountains out there but I think precious few that are also metal clad inside the insulation (I haven't run into one but maybe someone else has).
Another option is to again use your natural gas system but put it inside a concrete fountain (one that has insulation embedded inside). YMMV |
