On Monday we will get first crop condition on corn. Last week Iowa had a corn condition report that stated the crop in Kiowa was aroun 53 percent good to excellent vs first report last year at 81 percent, I would think Iowa will be above the National avg crop rating as they and most of Neb had the best planting condition early on. So one could see a crop condition down near 50%good to excellent. Planting rate 83 % leaving something near 17.5 ma to plant.
On Tuesday we will get the monthly s&d report , USDA has stated that they will use the most up to date info in putting together this report. One can reasonably expect that they are going to make some adjustments to acres and possibly yield, but it will not be a ful swing at the finale numbers. As adjustment to these numbers early come in the June report. My guess is whatever adjustments they make in this report will only reflect about one third of what they think is really going on, IE if they drop acres by 2 million then they think in the end it will drop by 6 mill Iowa n and the same with yield. If they drop it by 5bpa then they are thinking 15 pba in t he end.
