7,5" is good, better than wider in my opinion, though you could use the others if you had to.

If you can work the stubble and get a rain after seeding it, it should be easy to get a good stand. I think it will do well notilled, but you need to control weeds until it can get going and shade them out. It doesn't like competition. It thrives on high fertility, lots of moisture and heat.

Balelage is the way to go. In our climate, I have used a mower conditioner, tedded the windrows and still after 10 days in July heat here in Alabama, we baled it ahead of a rain with too much stem moisture!
