Subject: RE: soybean seed to be kept over until next year Germination?

PROSPECT, TENNESSEE
Really depends on the quality of the seed. The fall of '18 here didn't allow for many beans to be harvested in a timely manner, thus most of the seed I have handled is of poor quality this year. I tested the germ on my seed when it arrived. It was tagged 80% but actually tested 85%, 87%, and 89%, but the seed looked rough, and fragile. I use brush meters and after only a 100 units of seed, my population started falling. Long story short, brushes full of splits, seed falling out of plates......
I guess what im saying, saving seed another year depends on the quality of the seed, I have saved some that were treated, tested the germ the next spring and it be within 1 to 2 % of tagged germination. I have also seen some be less than 25%.......

Untreated, non gmo, I probably would dump them and start over if seed was available.
