Possibly on an air-cooled engine. Shouldn't bother an engine with a radiator/water jacket. Our 3020 Diesel book says to never get water on the injection pump as the tolerances are so tight it'll seize up when hot.
A helicopter has a gas turbine engine, so a little different then either an air cooled or water cooled piston engine.
Lots of small helicopters have typical combustion engines. And a price practical to a farmer sweitezer and Robinson's to name 2
