Bremen, KS | The Radio Color Computer and Color Computer 2 models (not sure about the CoCo 3) could save and load programs with a cassette recorder. Usually what happened was that a bit of wow or flutter on the tape would occur and the entire load operation would fail. There were more expensive recorders and tapes available that probably lowered the frequency of that frustration!
Consider that it was really not much different using a modem except that modem protocols used error correction and I don't think the RS CoCos bothered with such a thing! No wonder I bought a floppy drive as soon as I could afford one. | |
