Subject: Seed bean damage assessment methods

When assessing the quality of seed beans, what form of damage do seed companies scrutinize the most:

1) broken / split beans

2) damaged / missing bean coatings

Or, are they considered to be equal forms of damage?

How is damage measured

Out of 100 beans...

if one bean has a cracked or missing coating after doing the bleach test does that = 1% damage?

if two halve are found does that = 1% damage?

I assume most broken bean damage is measured by weighing the amount screenings and compared to the test weight of the beans?
