Subject: RE: A really different perspective on yesterdays rain

South Carolina
I have been reading the misery the wet spring has caused in the midwest
We have a different problem here:
Got over 2” rain yesterday and today!
First rain since May 12
17 consecutive days over 90F
7 consecutive days over 100F
Dryland corn almost a total loss-plenty already falling down
Insurance agents taking claims on corn loss and prevented planting on cotton and peanuts
Hay folks already lost a cutting -mostly Coastal Bermuda here
Watermelons did not pollinate correctly
Time still remains to plant soybeans or milo
Lots of replanting talk on cotton
They say a bad start makes a good end
Hope so
