Subject: RE: No-til complete chemical cost

NE Iowa
Peterbilt,

I still come back with a second pass on both corn and beans. My routine is plant, spray burndown with a residual, then comeback in a few weeks and spray second pass. The rye is mostly for soil retention and health but it does seem to hold back some weeds before termination, I have not noticed a significant slowing of weed emergence after the termination of the rye. In fact I am question the wisdom of applying a residual with the burndown of the rye, I am thinking that the height and bulk of the living rye maybe preventing the residuals from reaching and interacting with the soil properly. Still experimenting and learning.
