I use to use the 2x4 as clamps. Way easier to just use dirt/ gravel to cover end. Would get more feed in bag too as rolling around 2x4 uses more plastic. I would vent for few days( small hole about size of your small finger). Check twice daily for pressure coming out hole. Tape when it stops
