S.E. Sask. | I've come to the conclusion that the price of food has nothing to do with what happens on the farm. The price of a barrel of oil has come way down but we have never seen fuel more expensive. Fertilizer is more expensive than ever yet when the price of natural gas goes down it does not affect fertilizer prices. Middle men charge what the market will bear and we get to survive on the bare minimum that is left over from producing a crop. Yes, its still dry and crops suffering here so I guess wheat and canola will be going up in price. So watch out for more expensive bread and cooking oil. Where is the sarcasm emoji when I need it? |
