As others have said .5 acres of grass will not last more than a couple of weeks at most.

Unless you have a big famiy 2 or 3 steers is going to produce more beef than you can easily use. I would start with 1 steer and use your experience with the results to fine tune your feed rations.

You did not indicate what weight steers you planned on starting. With todays lousy market you are probably better off buying heavier feeder steers and just finishing them off for 60 to 90 days.
